ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Reidr Daniels

Author of the ‘Pyrate Series’ novels

Founder & CEO of Pyrate Publishing

Finalist, 2021 & 2022 Page Turner Awards - Writing Award, for his first three novels in the Pyrate Series

Sometimes your passion for something, and your talent for it, don’t intersect at the same time. I discovered pyrates as a kid, reading Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island. And I enjoyed writing when I was in school. But it wasn’t until decades later that the pyrate passion kicked in and my writing skills were sufficiently developed. Game on.

My Pyrate Series novels explore the richness of pyrate lives, relationships and challenges—many of which bear surprising similarities to today’s world, both personal and professional.

Pyrate Rising (2021) is my coming-of-age debut novel. Named a Finalist for the 2021 Page Turner Awards Writing Award, it was listed as the #1 New Seller in a Teen/Young Adult category by Amazon.com. [I placed it in that category because it’s the only one that even lists pyrates. But it’s truly an adult read.]

Pyrate Assassin (2022) was also a 2021 Writing Award Finalist.

Pyrate Crossover (2023) was a 2022 Writing Award Finalist.

Pyrate – Black Flag (2024) may be my very best novel in the series.

Reidr Daniels is my pen name. “Reidr” was a nickname my friends gave me early on. They had other names, of course, but this one works best. “Daniels” is an homage to my paternal grandfather, a WWI veteran who lived to be 101.

Pyrate on!

ABOUT PYRATE PUBLISHING

I founded Pyrate Publishing with the intent of bringing my readers fast-paced, action-filled, adventure novels for pirate lovers. The ‘Pyrate Series’ started with my debut novel, Pyrate Rising. But it’s now a trilogy-and-beyond.

Why P-Y-R-A-T-E, rather than pirate? Because it pays homage to the original book on pirates, authored by Captain Charles Johnson (likely a pen name). Published in 1724, it used the olde-English spelling in its title: “A General History of the Pyrates”.
